We often get asked this question: ​Are Football Skills/Nutmeg Performers and Football Freestylers the same thing? In short: No, Football Skills/Nutmeg Performers are different to Football Freestylers, though our performers are often referred to as 'Freestylers'. Football Freestylers captivate their audience with impressive skills which are all about keeping the ball in the air, while Panna Players specialise in ground-based football skills and interactive performances, often 1v1 matches, showcasing impressive footwork as well as the ultimate skill: the nutmeg!​

FOOTBALL FREESTYLER OR PANNA PLAYER?

We often get asked this question: ​Are Football Freestylers and Panna Players the same thing? In short: No, they are not, even though Panna Players are often mistakenly referred to as 'Freestylers'. So what's the difference?

Football Freestylers are able to control the ball in the air, without it touching the ground, in as many creative and impressive ways as possible, for example by balancing the ball on their neck, catching it between their legs and keeping it up with their feet. Their set is usually demonstrated as a performance for an audience to watch.

​PANNA PLAYER

Panna Players specialise in performing impressive football skills with the ball on the ground. This is usually done as a fun and interactive performance where members of the audience get to challenge the Panna Player in fun 1v1 panna matches (often inside a Panna Arena or Panna Cage). Panna Players demonstrate dazzling footwork as well as the ultimate skill of any Panna Player: the nutmeg!
